Hello CSRPs and RISE supporters
Happy New Year and welcome to 2017! As we are in the heart of winter, we would like to focus on a bright spot: our CSRPs! We are so proud of the work you do, and we would love to show it off. If you are a CSRP and have a project you would like to be featured in our newsletter or the RISE website, please send photos and a short description of the project details to RISE staff at info@riseprofessional.org. What a way to brighten up a cold day!

Solar Industry Sees Largest Quarter Ever
According to SEIA and GTM Research's Q4 Solar Market Insight report, which provides third-quarter data, the solar industry just experienced its largest quarter with more than 4,143 MW of PV installed. The total nationwide solar capacity is now 35.8 gigawatts, enough to power 6.5 million U.S. homes and reduce carbon emissions by 41.7 million metric tons annually. RISE to exhibit at roofing industry trade shows
RISE is excited to once again exhibit at two classic industry shows: the International Roofing Expo (IRE) in Las Vegas March 1-3 and the RCI International Convention and Trade Show in Anaheim, Calif., March 18-19. Whether you're a current CSRP or interested in discussing the CSRP credential and how it can affect your career, connect with us if you're attending either of these events! If you're interested in receiving a free expo hall pass to the IRE, contact Brad Martz at bmartz@riseprofessional.org.

NRCA to offer rooftop solar session at International Roofing Expo
On Feb. 28, in conjunction with the IRE, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is offering Rooftop Solar 101: A Roofing Contractor's Guide for Entering the Solar PV Market. The program will be presented by Aaron Nitzkin, founder and CEO of Solar Roof Dynamics, and Jeff Spies, senior director of policy at Quick Mount PV, and is intended to provide roofing professionals with tools to decide whether entering the solar PV market makes sense for their businesses and what roles they would like their businesses to play in the solar PV industry. For more information about what the program and to register, visit the IRE website.

The end is here for net metering in Arizona
On Dec. 20, 2016, Arizona utility regulators voted to end net metering. The amendment affects homeowners and small businesses in Arizona by replacing net metering with two methodologies that substantially undervalue the economic and environmental benefits provided by distributed generation. More details are available on The Arizona Republic.
